So, after finally reading the book Wheat Belly, we have decided to avoid gluten to see what happens. This week, we ventured out to Red Robin to try out their gluten-free buns. I really like their house-made veggie pattie (it’s made with chickpeas and other stuff), so although we don’t go often, I enjoy Red Robin.
This experience was a little different. The bun was fine, a little dryer and more crumbly than their usual brioche bun. I don’t know if that made the burger less enjoyable, but it was not as good as it usually is. They were skimpy on their serving with the fries.
The buns were an additional $2.50 each. We opted for water to try to stick closer to our budget. but we missed the $25 mark.
Total cost: $40
Was it worth it? for 2 basic burgers and a handful of fries? Definitely not worth the price tag! Next time, we will make burgers at home!
